The powers that be over at 30 Rock (namely Tina Fey) have finally revealed the title for their “world’s first” porn video game. The title? Gorgasim: The Legend of Dong Slayer. Yes, it has a that certain catchy vibe that just never lets you forget it once you’ve heard it–no matter how hard you try.
People have gotten used to product placements over the years, but some are just too much. They’re too intrusive, too overt, and too frequent. The five featured here are some of the worst and sure to make you cringe at the thought of “artistic integrity.” By the way, be sure to visit sister site Game With A Brain.
30 Rock has steadily become one of television’s finest shows. In fact, it’s easily the best sitcom on right now. Part of that winning appeal comes from its biting satire that has really taken off in the show’s current second season. Thursday’s episode turned to video games of a decidedly adult nature.
Nina Garcia, one of the judges from Bravo’s Project Runway series, has been fired from her day job as Fashion Director for Elle Magazine. This probably comes as good or bad news for you depending on how you respond to her personality on the show, or if you’re a reader of Elle Magazine. Still, it’s always sad to see someone lose their job and hopefully she rebounds soon.
It does raise questions about how this might affect her position on the show, though. This also comes at a time when Lifetime and Bravo are fighting for rights to the show. It would be sad to see one of the better reality shows go down to, well, a cat fight.
It was one of the surprise announcements of this TV season, that Britney Spears would appear on How I Met Your Mother on CBS. Letterman? Sure, but a sitcom? Despite her experience with guest starring on Will & Grace, it seemed like a strange move at this point in the singer’s career. That was until the episode garnered very favorable reviews from critics and fans alike.
Ever wondered what the real world would be like if it were more like Futurama? First, there’d probably be a whole debate this election year on robot rights to marry. But beyond that, it might look something like the art Dylan Marvin has cooked up. Basically, Marvin has taken some stock photography and used Photoshop to tweak it beyond belief. The result? Something very, very neat. Visit his site for more Futurama artwork.
There isn’t too much surprising here that hasn’t been announced before, with the possible exception of the XIII miniseries. Based on a popular comic book series, it has already been adapted once as a video game (featuring the voice of David Duchovny). The rest of the lineup isn’t too thrilling, though it is interesting to see that they note this will be ER’s last season. Wasn’t the same thing said about last season?
Here’s the thing about American Idol: it isn’t great and they take advantage of the artists, but pretty much everyone who has launched a career from it owes it everything. It’s a sad realization for many, but most American Idol contestants would have gotten nowhere without the show’s ubiquitous PR behind them. That includes last season’s runner-up Blake Lewis. This appearance on a radio show, while sprinkled with some truth, just makes him seem like such a prima donna for someone who hasn’t really accomplished all that much. It’s akin to being snobby at a monster truck rally.
Variety is reporting that Knight Rider will be reborn for the third time as a series. The new series will be continued from the February TV movie which saw a new KITT and a whole new cast, with a cameo from original Knight, David Hasselhoff. Now, the only thing to truly pine for is a full-time recurring role for Hasselhoff.
South Park is the little show that could. With its crude animation and sort of gimmicky premise of trash talking kids, many expected it to fade into oblivion long ago. Yet, here it is now in its twelfth season still going strong. If you were a late convert, or simply miss a favorite episode, now you can watch them all for free online. (more…)
