While recent revelations of costume designs may instill some hope in Joe fans, most know better than to get their hopes too high for the upcoming live-action G.I. Joe movie. The Return of Jezebel James was supposed to be Amy Sherman-Palladino’s triumphant return to television. She and her husband had been sort of forced out of Gilmore Girls’ last season, and this was supposed to be the show that vindicated her as a creator. The Mist is one of the best horror films to hit theaters in years. While most of horror has gone the way of Saw for cheap torture-porn thrills, The Mist was a throwback to everything that helped make classic horror films. It was slow and methodical. When it comes to the new G.I. Joe film, fair or not, Snake Eyes may be the most famous character outside of Cobra Commander and Destro. Unlike many of the Joes who were defined by their features, Snake Eyes was entirely costume based like the aforementioned Cobra members. In other words, his look is very important. (more…)
