While recent revelations of costume designs may instill some hope in Joe fans, most know better than to get their hopes too high for the upcoming live-action G.I. Joe movie. Sure, things will blow up real nice, but can’t audiences expect a little more? Like say, hearing “And knowing is half the battle,” at least once? Apparently, they can.
New details suggest that the popular catch phrase will likely pop up, along with some backstory explaining why Snake Eyes doesn’t speak and why Destro wears a mask. The suggestion is that these things were never touched upon in the cartoon, but wasn’t there an episode about Destro’s family being some sort of weird cult and forcing him to wear the mask for some preceived sin? Perhaps not.
Also, with Hawk, Destro, Cobra Commander, Zartan, Storm Shadow, Scarlett, and others confirmed in the new film, where does that leave Shipwreck? Can you seriously make a G.I. Joe film without Shipwreck? Or does he just come off like a bad stereotype today?

IIRC, at one time wasn’t the TV toon show supposed to feature a tie-in episode(s) with RAMBO, HULK HOGAN and RODDY PIPER, etc. professional wrestlers, and Mr. USA/AMERICA/UNIVERSE bodybuilding or weightlifting champion(s) - did they ever do it or no???
