The Mist in black and white is director’s version

The Mist is one of the best horror films to hit theaters in years.  While most of horror has gone the way of Saw for cheap torture-porn thrills, The Mist was a throwback to everything that helped make classic horror films.  It was slow and methodical.  It knew where it was going, but it never tipped its hand too heavily.

Now, the new 2-disc collector’s DVD set contains something very cool.  The entire film has been presented in black and white, and above you can hear director Frank Darabont explain why it’s his preferred version of the film.  It may seem like a minor change, but one most definitely welcomed by those who relish this film.  Do yourself a favor and check it out.
