Miley Cyrus officially changes name

Files under Music, TV | Posted by Justin |

Miley Cyrus

Is this really brain feeding news?  No, of course not.  The fact that Miley Cyrus has filed papers to officially change her name to, well, Miley Cyrus is hardly the biggest news of the day.  Still, it gets at a bigger issue.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with Miss Cyrus from an outward perspective.  She seems to be fairly grounded and has a father, Billy Ray, who has been through all this instant fame stuff before.  Still, there’s something a little weird about her officially changing her name to Miley Ray Cyrus, even if it was from the horrid Destiny Hope Cyrus (really Billy Ray?).

After the world has witnessed one young starlet’s burnout after another, is there anyone who really wants to witness it again?  Maybe it would be fun for Miley to just stay playing Miley for a while longer, instead of breaking down that barrier even further.  You know, before Miley and Hannah Montana were both just characters.  Now she really is becoming her character.
