is a real comic talent, but he is a dependent one. He has trouble carrying the brunt of jokes entirely himself (like a Steve Martin), and is best when he has someone to play off of (like a Dan Akroyd). The first for the new Get Smart movie was undeniably flawed and lacked the comedic energy of the original TV show. The new is much better, but it still seems like the film is relying too much on Carell and not enough on his talented co-stars. Hopefully this is the wrong impression, as the supporting cast looks stellar for a movie of this sort.
